Linda needed a 20-foot by 6-foot deck built clean, level, and stained. We handled it end-to-end — from layout and post-setting to deck boards, railings, and finish stain. Sturdy, safe, and finished in a way she could enjoy for years. The site had a slight grade we corrected with adjusted post heights so the finished surface read level edge-to-edge. Pressure-treated structural lumber, cedar railings for warmth, and an exterior stain matched to her trim. Linda was on-site through the build — we walked the layout with her before the first post was set, asked her opinion on rail spacing and stair direction, and confirmed the stain color before we pulled the brush. When we left, the deck was ready to use, the property was clean, and Linda had a half-dozen neighbors stopping by asking who built it. We left her with our number — and we got the calls.
What the homeowner said
“Justin and Junior were awesome. They included me in everything they were doing, asked my opinion in how I wanted the deck to flow, and stained the deck when they were all through. Made sure that it was sturdy and safe. They went the extra mile to see that I was happy — and even had people stopping by to get their information so they could contact them about a job they wanted done. I would recommend them for any job big or small.”

How we built it
Day 1 — Layout and post-set. We walked the site with Linda first, confirmed dimensions, marked post locations, and dug. The grade had a slight slope that we corrected with adjusted post heights so the deck surface would finish level edge-to-edge. Concrete poured, posts plumbed, posts braced overnight to set.
Day 2 — Frame and ledger. Beams and joists installed at 16-inch on-center spacing. The ledger board was through-bolted (not lag-screwed) into the framing — every deck failure starts at a bad ledger. Joist hangers galvanized.
Day 3 — Decking and railings. Pressure-treated boards with hidden fasteners on the field, exposed stainless on the perimeter. Cedar railing posts notched into the structure, top rail and balusters set with consistent reveal.
Day 4 — Stain and walkthrough. UV-rated coastal stain rolled and brushed in two coats. Final walkthrough with Linda. Sign-off, final 50% collected, deck ready to use.
